Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of DevOps, cloud, site reliability engineering, or infrastructure engineering experience supporting platform-as-a-service and software-as-a-service platforms.
  • At least 2 years of people-management experience leading DevOps, site reliability engineering, or database administration teams, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, including infrastructure-as-a-service, platform-as-a-service, networking, Entra ID, and Azure SQL.
  • Deep experience designing and operating continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools across multi-environment software-as-a-service deployments.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code and configuration management at scale.
  • Strong SQL Server administration experience, including performance tuning, high availability and disaster recovery, Always On, replication, log shipping, backup, security, and other database models.
  • Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Kubernetes Service.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting platforms such as Dynatrace, Datadog, and Azure Application Insights.
  • Experience working within compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar.
  • Experience supporting software-as-a-service platforms in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer, AWS DevOps Engineer, or equivalent.
  • Scripting and automation experience with PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, including static application security testing, dynamic application security testing, dependency scanning, secrets management, Azure Key Vault, and HashiCorp Vault.
  • Experience with FinOps and Azure cost optimization at scale.
  • Exposure to PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Azure SQL Managed Instance migrations.
  • Experience integrating IT service management and change-management tools such as ServiceNow and Jira Service Management into delivery workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of DevOps Engineers and Database Administrators, including hiring, performance management, mentoring, and career development.
  • Define and execute the DevOps and database administration roadmap aligned to product and platform strategy.
  • Own the design, reliability, and continuous improvement of continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions, supporting automated build, test, release, and rollback for software-as-a-service products.
  • Own SQL Server database operations across production and non-production environments, including performance tuning, indexing, capacity planning, patching cadence, backup and recovery, recovery time and recovery point objectives, and Always On high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Participate in incident response for infrastructure and database events, including the on-call rotation, post-incident reviews, and corrective-action follow-through.
  • Partner with the Security team to embed DevSecOps practices, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, dependency hygiene, and compliance with SOC 2 and other applicable frameworks.
  • Partner with Senior Cloud Engineers and the Director to manage cloud spend and FinOps practices in Azure, track utilization, right-size workloads, and report cost trends to leadership.
  • Establish and maintain operational documentation, change-management discipline, and audit-ready evidence for internal and external reviews.
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, Product, and Client Services teams to plan releases, capacity, and platform improvements that support business growth.
  • Continuously improve automation, observability, and self-service capabilities to reduce toil and accelerate delivery.
