  • Ability to route set and climb at a high level
  • Head Route setter experience preferred

Responsibilities
  • Craft and actualize the climbing experience in line with Bouldering Project's values and Climbing Experience Guiding Principles
  • Design and curate innovative climbing circuits that embody our vision and benefits
  • Maintain high standards for cleanliness and professionalism in climbing spaces
  • Develop and mentor route setting staff, aligning their growth with Bouldering Project's values and expectations
  • Lead teams in safety protocols, risk management, and community engagement
  • Collaborate with other departments and events to meet user needs
  • Work closely with the General Manager to understand budgeting, payroll, labor, reporting, and other local metrics and manage the route setting program accordingly
  • Seek and encourage development opportunities for staff in line with BP’s and their personal needs and goals
  • Effectively manage Wall Maintenance staff and responsibilities - ensuring work is performed in a timely and efficient manner in line with BP’s risk management guidelines
  • Connect with the climbing community through events, coaching, and fostering a sense of belonging
  • Be a community leader, exemplifying Bouldering Project's ethos among staff and participants
  • Coordinate with management on equipment purchases and maintain efficient stock systems
  • Ensure the upkeep of climbing infrastructure and training spaces
  • Ensure route setting operations comply with safety standards and regulations
  • Develop and maintain route setting schedules, ensuring adequate coverage
  • Maintain budgeting, payroll, labor, reporting, and other local metrics and manage the route setting program accordingly
  • Oversee staff administration, including payroll, time tracking, and performance evaluations
