Essential Job Functions:

• Contribute production-quality code (Go/Python) to existing production cloud infrastructure services in GCP & AWS.

• Design, build, and own new cloud services, endpoints, and APIs for Phosphorus as we expand our offerings.

• Improve existing production build pipelines.

• Own service availability, build tooling, and automation for optimizing our building and deploying process for the services.

• Provision virtual machines, and delivered application images for both internal and external deployments (Packer/Terraform/Docker/Buildkite/ESXi)

• Support product engineering for integrating with partner and competitor software SaaS solutions.

Essential Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of experience working with containerized (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) applications.

• Proficiency in authoring software in Go and/or Python

• Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, deploying, and maintaining scalable cloud-based infrastructure services in either AWS or GCP

• Expert in infrastructure automation tooling and production release engineering

• Expert in best practices for security, observability, reliability, performance, and incident response

• Experience integrating existing cloud applications with 3rd party service APIs

• Experience designing & implementing APIs

• Experience maintaining and updating system security plans on all cloud services and their dependencies

• Strong sense of ownership and drives clarity and alignment for the entire team

• Able to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment where engineers often wear several hats

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience provisioning virtual machines or other infrastructure with tools such as Packer or Terraform

• DevOps experience building, owning & managing boutique internal tooling services for engineers

• Experience with cryptography/secret management

• Expert Linux networking chops, proficiency scripting in Bash or equivalent

• Experience working with virtualization software such as vSphere ESXi, Azure, or equivalent

• Experience configuring firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, routing tables, and other cloud networking services in any major modern cloud provider environment (AWS, GCP, Azure, GitLab)

• Passion for automation 

This position is based in Nashville, TN. Must be within a commutable distance of the office. We offer paid relocation!
