Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or have an education equivalency for licensing.
  • Hold Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Hold the applicable Registered Nurse license for the state of work, or an eligible compact-state Registered Nurse license where permitted.
  • Complete competency and other role requirements.
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and work safely.
Responsibilities
  • Perform specialized nursing tasks based on demonstrated competence for the patient population served.
  • Assess patients' biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, nutritional, pain-management, and age-appropriate needs, including signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect, to develop, evaluate, and modify plans of care.
  • Develop comprehensive patient and family education plans, use appropriate instructional resources and methods, and provide health education and coaching.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation, including processing physician orders, in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate nursing care delivered by team members based on patient needs and professional judgment.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other health care professionals regarding all aspects of patient care.
  • Apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge to nursing practice and deliver care based on age-specific and clinical needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
