Alumni Ventures helps accredited individual investors access venture capital by building alumni-based communities and offering two participation options: annual funds that invest in a diversified portfolio of about 20–30 startups, or deal-by-deal investments. Investors participate by contributing capital to these funds or by co-investing alongside rounds led by established VCs, with AV providing sourcing and access across multiple stages and sectors. The firm differentiates itself by organizing investor communities (initially alumni groups) and focusing on diversification, access, and participation rather than taking lead roles or board seats. Its goal is to democratize venture investing for individuals by delivering professional-grade, diversified portfolios through its network-powered model.

Citra Space raises $15M Series A to identify and track 35,000 objects orbiting Earth

Citra Space Corp, a Colorado Springs-based space technology company, has raised $15 million in Series A funding led by Washington Harbour Partners. Industrious Ventures, Reliable Properties and existing investors including Scout VC and Squadra Ventures participated. Founded in 2024 by former US Space Force and Air Force officers, Citra develops space object identification technology to help operators understand what objects are orbiting Earth and their intent. Of the 35,000 objects currently in orbit, operators lack context about roughly 10,000 of them. The company merges multiple data sources to create persistent "fingerprints" of objects over time, providing operators with a consistent basis for identifying and characterising orbital activity. The funding will support development and deployment amongst commercial and government partners.
