Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight of daily operations for the Guest Relations Department and Patient Advocate.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate services and personnel selection, mentoring, performance appraisals, interdepartmental and intradepartmental activities, policy and procedure development, process improvement, customer relations, service, quality, and departmental goals.
  • Oversee Patient Rights and Responsibilities standards across the organization to ensure practices meet accrediting-body and regulatory-agency requirements.
  • Provide proactive patient relations and patient advocacy through rounding and patient visits to mitigate issues and promote the patient experience.
  • Oversee the grievance process to ensure compliance with CMS, The Joint Commission, state, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Provide group facilitation and inter-group problem-solving techniques to understand the causes of patient grievances and service breakdowns, and facilitate actions to reduce future occurrences and improve the patient experience.
  • Provide education and training on practices that enhance the patient experience, including patient communication and patient-centered practices.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance service and lead patient-experience improvement initiatives, providing project management for customer and patient improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct guest shopping and observations of patient-centered practices.
  • Ensure adequate and useful data is provided for trending and analysis related to patient grievances.
  • Prepare or assist with preparing annual departmental non-salary expense, full-time-equivalent, and capital expense budgets, and ensure departmental fiscal responsibility.

  • A Master's degree in healthcare, nursing, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with project management is preferred.
  • Experience providing education and training is preferred.
  • Five years of leadership experience is preferred.
