Requirements
  • A high school diploma, General Educational Development credential, or 10 years of work experience is required.
  • Two years of experience is required.
  • The role requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects weighing 0–25 pounds.
  • The role requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive foot, leg, hand, and arm movements.
  • The role requires frequent near and far vision, depth perception, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  • The role requires frequent use of hearing and speech for oral communication, including the ability to hear alarms and malfunctioning machinery.
  • Frequent keyboard use and data entry are required.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain and interpret medical documentation, compare it with insurance coverage criteria, and create orders for medical equipment and supplies.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits and communicate financial responsibilities to patients, caregivers, and other health care providers.
  • Review, obtain, and log medical documentation supporting equipment and supply reimbursement.
  • Perform accurate data entry into the operating system and process orders for appropriate equipment and supplies to ensure delivery and correct billing.
  • Communicate with patients, employees, payers, caregivers, and other health care providers about order status.
  • Collect patient payments for coinsurance, copayments, and self-pay items.
  • Obtain written orders and prior authorization for appropriate equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and accreditation standards.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
