Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (required)
  • Healthcare information systems; healthcare environment working with electronic health records and healthcare IT systems (3-5 years)
  • Clinical Informatics Certification - EPIC Systems Corporation (required)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to consistently exercise sound judgment and initiative in a wide range of circumstances
  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of inpatient, ambulatory and outpatient environments and processes
  • Computer literacy and information literacy
  • Ability to effectively train others in the use of Electronic Health Record (EHR) and other related technology or third-party integrations
  • Support adoption of and communicate best practices for all Epic applications the associate will be responsible for supporting
  • Ability to travel to any area of the organization, both local and remote, as needed. Must provide own transportation
  • Works with operational stakeholders to track and train adoption of key performance indicators (KPIs)
Responsibilities
  • Collects, organizes and connects information to determine desired improvements, assesses current best practices in the industry for applicability within the organization, and documents how the enterprise desires to manage its processes using specified information systems technology
  • Supports information system implementations and adoption in a timely manner, using change management principles to apply logical, consistent and organized work, resulting desired goals and outcomes of adoption and utilization of EHR and other technology or third-party integrations
  • Develops an understanding of the application functionality, reporting capabilities, interfacing and integration associated with clinical applications assigned
  • Works directly with new providers in the onboarding process not limited to, but including ensuring adoption of EHR best practices, enabling provider to use ePrescribe, training on use of documentation tools, assisting providers with user settings to improve efficiency
  • Communicates effectively by promoting the flow of information within and outside the department
  • Maintains knowledge on assigned information systems, technologies and related subjects with a focus on EMR/EHR applications and third-party integrations. Provider first level support to providers
  • Provides training on information systems as assigned
  • Works with operational stakeholders and providers to track and train adoption of key performance indicators (KPIs) in the EMR/EHR. Monitors Provider Efficiency Profile and Signal data
  • Serve as the liaison between IT teams and providers/clinicians, with particular focus on communication of health IT changes and their impact to providers. Provide clinical workflow input to IT Associates as needed
  • Shares tips/tricks at department/division meetings
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of new offerings available in Epic and other systems in use at MLH
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Sciences (preferred)
  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (preferred)
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (preferred)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred)
  • 7-9 years of experience in information systems implementation/support or experience in a healthcare environment working with electronic health records and healthcare IT systems (preferred)

Former Memphis broadcaster Richard Ransom leaves Methodist Le Bonheur communications post. Memphis Commercial Appeal Former Memphis broadcaster Richard Ransom has left his role as the director of strategic communication at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, Ransom confirmed Nov. 19. "After 30 years in television news, I believed that Methodist offered me an interesting opportunity to use my skills as a journalist to provide Methodist with proactive and principled media relations," Ransom said in a statement. "It didn't take long to realize that this is not what the hospital system's management had in mind. We agreed to part ways. While I've made no decisions about my next chapter, I am committed to being more thoughtful about where I land." Ransom joined Methodist from ABC24 in March 2025, where he spent almost a decade as a television broadcaster. Ransom had been a part of the Memphis media world for 20 years.
