Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field with at least five years of broad financial experience; or an associate degree in a related field with at least seven years of broad financial experience; or at least nine years of broad financial experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Two years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Understanding of accounting concepts, financial reporting standards, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Experience with accounting software, statistical analysis tools, and industry-specific prediction applications.
  • Knowledge of financial analysis and strategy.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax regulations, and industry legislation.
  • The position requires handling highly confidential information and adherence to client and agency confidentiality rules and laws.
  • Must have good spelling and mathematical skills.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills are required.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of standard office equipment.
  • Must communicate effectively in written and oral formats and present and exchange information internally and externally.
  • Must pass all required criminal history checks and monthly checks against the Office of Inspector General and General Services Administration exclusion lists.
  • Must pass a pre-hire drug screen.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and personal auto insurance for vehicles used for CCS business, including at least $300,000 bodily-injury liability coverage and $100,000 property-damage coverage.
  • Must be able to perform the stated office-based physical duties, including computer and phone use, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and occasional lifting or moving of up to 30 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise the preparation of quarterly and annual account reconciliations, monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards, and assist with cash-flow forecasting.
  • Oversee the operations and development of the organization's finance departments, including creating and reviewing policies, budgeting, recruiting, training, and conducting regular assessments of financial procedures.
  • Advise colleagues and executive management on decisions related to the organization's finances.
  • Supervise documentation of the organization's financial status and forecasts.
  • Mediate between the organization, employees, and stakeholders on financial issues to resolve differences amicably.
  • Create strategic business plans based on analysis of the organization's status and financial forecasts.
  • Prepare activity reports, create financial forecasts, investigate ways to improve profitability, analyze business opportunities, and identify ways to maintain or reduce company costs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Preference is given to candidates who have worked for or in partnership with nonprofit organizations.
  • Professional finance or accounting certification is preferred.
