Requirements
  • 5+ years of A/B and multivariate testing experience, serving as subject matter expert
  • Expert knowledge of A/B testing platforms, preferably Optimizely
  • Strong working knowledge of digital analytics KPIs and tools such as Adobe Analytics
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with digital Product Managers, Editorial teams, Designers, Engineering and Development, and Business Operations teams
  • Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver complex messages to diverse audiences
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g. Looker, Domo, Tableau, etc.)
  • Experience using SQL to explore and analyze large data sets
Responsibilities
  • Design and execute experiments supporting strategic initiatives that drive product insights to inform decision making and prioritization of product features/enhancements that increase user engagement and retention
  • Lead the creation of innovative, data-driven growth initiatives to identify new market opportunities and optimize existing revenue channels
  • Manage a small team of experimentation analysts who will design and execute experiments
  • Establish and lead an experimentation center of excellence, creating processes and best practices for experiment design, hypothesis definition, KPI selection, requirements gathering, experiment coordination and documentation
  • Train analysts and product and engineering partners on the fundamentals of experimentation
  • Collaborate with partners across the business to set priorities and establish roadmaps for supporting product development with A/B and multivariate tests
  • Establish strong and productive relationships with product management and cross-functional teams to understand the needs of the business and use that knowledge to inform experimentation strategy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally around strategic initiatives with larger Research & Analytics team to align resources and methodology with business needs
Desired Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree or higher in Math, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related quantitative field
  • Strong understanding of HTML, Javascript, JQuery, CSS
  • Strong industry knowledge of the digital consumer journey, including expertise in delivering analytics, insights, and results that inform decision making and strategy
  • Experience with digital news or relevant digital analytics experience plus strong interest in news
