Job Summary
Join MongoDB’s dynamic Public Sector Sales team as a Sales Account Executive to drive growth in our West South Central region. In this key role, you’ll develop and maintain strategic relationships with State, Local, and Education (SLED) accounts, expanding MongoDB’s footprint. You’ll lead your territory, leveraging internal resources to sell software and professional services.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the leader and CEO of your assigned territory, developing strategies to achieve sales goals.
- Establish and nurture effective relationships that lead to growth opportunities, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships with CIOs, Directors, Managers, Developers, and Database Administrators.
- Work closely with Solutions Architects to ensure successful client engagements and outcomes.Partner with Solutions Architects, Customer Success Managers, and the Professional Services team to deliver exceptional customer experiences and achieve satisfaction.
- Develop and execute plans to find, develop, and maintain SLED accounts, expanding MongoDB’s presence. Develop and manage a sales pipeline with a primary focus on securing new logos and new workloads. Strategically prospect into C-suite positions, IT leaders, and technical end users such as developers and database administrators.
- Work closely with ecosystem partner sales and channel partners to enhance deal sizes, utilizing strategies such as upselling, cross-selling, and bundling. Collaborate with partners and strategic vendors but do not rely on them.
- Participate in comprehensive sales enablement training, including Sales Bootcamp, advanced sales training modules, and leadership development programs to continuously enhance your skills and effectiveness.
What You Bring To The Table
- 3+ years of field quota-carrying experience in a fast-paced and competitive market, with a focus on closing net new logos within SLED. Demonstrated ability to open new accounts and manage a complex sales process.
- Proven track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to articulate the business value of complex enterprise technology.
- Skilled in building business champions and engaging with senior-level stakeholders.
- Fluent in English.
- Must reside within the assigned territory.
- Driven, competitive, and possess a strong desire to succeed.
- Previous Sales Methodology training (e.g., BANT, MEDDPICC, SPIN, Challenger Sales).
- Familiarity with databases, developers, applications, and open-source technology.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.

Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:
$135,000—$135,000 USD
