Requirements
  • A Medical Doctor degree and an active Oregon medical license are required upon hire.
  • Board certification in Cardiology and board eligibility or certification in Interventional Cardiology are required.
  • A Drug Enforcement Administration certification and current Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications are required.
Responsibilities
  • Work clinically as an interventional cardiologist focused on structural heart disease.
  • Spend an average of two days per week in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, focusing on transcatheter aortic valve replacement, left atrial appendage closure, and mitral and tricuspid interventions.
  • Play a major leadership role in the transcatheter aortic valve replacement program, including procedures, clinical research, and education for structural fellows.
  • Cover an appropriate share of interventional call on weeknights, weekends, and holidays, as well as clinic duties.
  • Participate in the development of an interventional cardiology fellowship at OHSU and involve trainees in the valvular heart disease program.
  • Perform additional clinical work as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in an academic health facility.
  • Expertise in complex coronary and structural heart disease procedures.
  • Capability in valvuloplasty, percutaneous valve implantation, ASD/PFO procedures, perivalvular leak procedures, post-myocardial-infarction ventricular septal defect closures, alcohol septal ablation, and implantation of percutaneous ventricular assist devices.
