Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Three to five years of experience in a related field, preferably in an acute care setting.
  • Ability to communicate in writing in both languages.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, managers, staff, and volunteers.
Responsibilities
  • Work as an extension of the clinical care team by identifying and resolving communication and cultural barriers using advocacy skills.
  • Manage patient expectations by educating and influencing expected service behaviors with staff and providers.
  • Advocate for Limited English Proficient patients and families to empower them to take an active role in improving their patient experience.
  • Provide creative solutions to unique challenges in collaboration with leadership.
  • Develop education materials.
  • Assist with patient- and family-centered policies.
  • Make recommendations to drive service excellence.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in the medical field or with medical terminology.
  • Strong command of English and Chinese or Spanish; multiple dialects preferred.
