  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Eligibility for a 30-Day Emergency Substitute Permit is required.
  • Maintain high academic and behavioral expectations for students.
  • Execute warm/strict classroom management and uphold the school's restorative behavior systems.
Responsibilities
  • Provide coverage for teacher absences through day-to-day or long-term assignments as needed.
  • Lead rigorous instruction in the assigned content.
  • Follow lesson plans and instructions left by the homeroom teacher for day-to-day assignments.
  • Deliver instructional materials prepared using the Intellectual Planning and Prep protocol and the school's rigorous, aligned curriculum for long-term assignments.
  • Communicate and collaborate with families regarding students' behavior and academic progress.
  • Start the day at 7:30 a.m. with a school team huddle and end at 3:30 p.m. after student dismissal.
  • Participate in weekly collaborative grade-level team meetings.
  • Grow as an educator through regular one-on-one meetings and feedback sessions with a supervisor.
  • Participate actively in weekly professional development focused on school culture and academics.
  • Perform other duties supporting students and the school community.
Desired Qualifications
  • A 30-Day Emergency Substitute Permit is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience and success working with students in low-income communities is preferred.
