- Maintain high academic and behavioral expectations for students.
- Execute warm/strict classroom management and uphold the school's restorative behavior systems.
- Provide coverage for teacher absences through day-to-day or long-term assignments as needed.
- Lead rigorous instruction in the assigned content.
- Follow lesson plans and instructions left by the homeroom teacher for day-to-day assignments.
- Deliver instructional materials prepared using the Intellectual Planning and Prep protocol and the school's rigorous, aligned curriculum for long-term assignments.
- Communicate and collaborate with families regarding students' behavior and academic progress.
- Start the day at 7:30 a.m. with a school team huddle and end at 3:30 p.m. after student dismissal.
- Participate in weekly collaborative grade-level team meetings.
- Grow as an educator through regular one-on-one meetings and feedback sessions with a supervisor.
- Participate actively in weekly professional development focused on school culture and academics.
- Perform other duties supporting students and the school community.
- A 30-Day Emergency Substitute Permit is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience and success working with students in low-income communities is preferred.
Equitas Academy Charter Schools operates a network of free, publicly funded K–8 charter schools in Pico-Union, Los Angeles.
