About the Role:
The role requires a seasoned Comms & PR professional; someone who is a strong and natural storyteller, a media relations expert, and with a keen ability for spotting stories that will strike a chord amongst consumers and press. You’ll be a member of the PR Team that will drive telling the Skyscanner story to the world. There’s a lot of noise and competition in the travel space, and you’ll help us break through the crowd by identifying the most impactful channels, publications, partners, and stories that will resonate with travellers across the region.
The ideal candidate will deeply love PR and understand its key role in creating, building and sharing a brand that the world will love. They will be adept at multi-market and inter agency management, understanding how to deliver strong ROI and consistent messaging across numerous geographies.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract (maternity leave cover) starting from 1st March or soon after.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of Global PR strategy that aligns and delivers our Global Brand position, supports our roadmap and contributes toward our brand goals.
- Lead execution on relevant parts of the EMEA PR strategy
- Managing markets including Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and the GCC (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain)
- Partner on the broader PR strategy and communications goals at the Global level, as part of the wider Marketing strategy
- Champion the voice of our travellers, our people, our partners and the press.
- Navigate proactive press relations, crisis comms, and reactive press incidents with composure, authenticity and integrity.
- Ensure we are building a steady drum of coverage in Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and the GCC region that positions us in good standing.
- Partner with data stakeholders to bring our data to the masses in exciting ways that drive audience growth and coverage.
- Keep a pulse on our category and be a thought leader on our broader Communications activities and on new trends we should consider in our larger strategy.
- Be a champion of our brand values and proactively identify unique ways for us to share these values with the world.
- Partner with the wider PR and marketing teams to think through PR measurement, value and return on investment both in the short term and long-term views.
- Develop and manage key stakeholder relationships at exec and senior levels, support our spokespeople and develop our position and narrative.
- Collaborate with SEO, Content and Affiliates team on integrated storytelling and campaigns
Key Skills:
- Significant Comms & PR experience, preferably in a Global or EMEA role Delivering campaigns and PR programs at pace and at scale
- Proven track record of contributing to the development and execution of strategies for Global and EMEA Comms & PR teams that drive impact and build brand awareness.
- Proven experience managing and working across multiple European and/or Global Markets
- Experience of analytics and reporting to drive ideation and decision making
- Experience in dealing with cultural and societal issues or trends, developing a position and executing an external communications plan.
- Experience of supporting and coaching agencies to be performance driven and culture catalysts on behalf of Skyscanner
- Experience managing multiple agencies, consultants and freelancers to augment in-house resources to drive efficiencies.
- Exceptional storyteller and passion for consumer tech and the travel industry
