  • Demonstrated experience commensurate with required skill set acceptable.
  • 5 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance department, preferably leading teams.
  • Proficiency with computers and business management related software packages such as Maintenance Connection.
  • Must be willing to work some irregular hours, as dictated by business needs.
  • Ability to build trust and confidence with management and supervision.
  • Ability to communicate with team members at all levels.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish credibility.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of the maintenance and facility programs, including cost tracking, parts and labor, preventative maintenance programs, implementation of cost reduction, support of new installations, and development and training of maintenance personnel.
  • Actively search for and creatively implement effective methods to improve and enhance the maintenance organization performance.
  • Ability to organize and manage diverse work assignments simultaneously and independently.

  • Works effectively as a team member with other members of management team.
  • Develops effective training materials utilizing internal and external resources.
  • Conducts periodic performance reviews for all associated team members.
  • Responsible for all Maintenance department related activities, both Operations and Facilities, as well as provides overall plant maintenance strategies and direction to ensure complete compliance to customer’s asset maintenance specifications.
  • Maintains all health and safety OSHA guidelines and ensure complete departmental compliance to associated policies and protocols.
  • Manages and directs efforts regarding department training guidelines.
  • Hires, trains, and supervises all maintenance personnel.
  • Ensures their respective skillsets meet or exceed customer’s expectations in order to minimize downtime.
  • Responsible for the development and managed control of the operations and facility maintenance budgets.
  • Establishes, maintains, and continually drives improvements regarding an effective Preventative Maintenance (PM) program for all customer capital assets.
  • Maintains spare parts inventories consistent with customer’s needs to maximize line uptime while balancing with customer’s cost savings initiatives.
  • Directs efforts to monitor associated suppliers on an ongoing basis to ensure best parts pricing and availability.
  • Institutes, strictly enforces, and continually communicates regarding an effective safety program to include lock-out/tag-out, NFPA 70E compliance, HECP protocol and all associated training.
  • Actively promote a continuous improvement culture within all the maintenance functional areas (i.e. floor support, schedulers, MRO planners, and leadership).
  • Identifies, develops, and institutes cost-savings measures related to maintenance related activities on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintains and ensures a clean, safe, orderly, and effectively run maintenance related areas including, but not limited to all floor maintenance areas, the maintenance shop, spare parts inventory area, facilities maintenance area, facilities equipment storage areas, and overall equipment repair areas.
  • Prioritizes and schedules all maintenance work with a focus on minimalizing the amount of associated overtime in order to meet operational needs.
  • Follows up on all work to ensure that it is done in a timely and proper manner and that all safety and productivity guidelines are met.
  • Completely understands all associated plant process machinery both mechanically and systematically.
  • Works to innovate and optimize products and process capabilities on customer’s behalf.
  • Understands customer’s product quality specifications, packaging configurations, and product technologies in order to develop best process and practices.
  • Provides direction and position responsibility both inside and outside department lines on programs seeking new and innovative approaches to problems and new applications of existing maintenance techniques and principles.
  • Serves as a technical point of contact with customer.
  • Maintain proficiency and expertise in all related technical areas by participating in various training and continuing education programs.
  • Maintains an adequately technically trained staff of mechanics to meet plant operational and facility management needs.
