Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, healthcare administration, clinical, or a related field.
  • Five years of experience related to business or healthcare administration or in a nonprofit setting; Houston Methodist employees with four years of experience may be considered if they demonstrate progressive responsibilities.
  • Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English to perform the essential functions of the job, especially activities affecting patient or employee safety or security.
  • Strong communication, presentation, analytical, interpersonal, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet, word-processing, and presentation software.
  • Ability to lead meetings and present with authority; manage projects and stakeholder communications; work autonomously on multiple tactical and strategic initiatives; balance competing priorities; protect confidential information; and collaborate effectively.
Responsibilities
  • Set the strategic direction for assigned complex and large programs and remain accountable for performance against strategy and goals.
  • Lead, design, guide, and execute program strategies while managing relationships with hospital leadership, clients, partners, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Plan and design program implementation, measure and maintain desired outcomes, develop reports, and provide education and technical expertise to support successful implementation and sustainability.
  • Build stakeholder relationships, obtain buy-in for change efforts, provide consultation, and promote system-wide programming and strategies.
  • Lead program strategies to ensure timelines, deliverables, and budgets are met; serve as a subject-matter expert and liaison to councils and professional groups.
  • Coordinate program operations, monitor effectiveness and progress, identify corrective actions, and provide decision support for strategic decisions.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports, proposals, presentations, business cases, and other documentation for senior management, customers, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Develop implementation plans, organize cross-functional and cross-entity activities and committees, and drive program or sponsorship/event success.
  • Lead internal and external committees and task forces, delegate action items, and follow up to ensure completion.
  • Develop and lead training, education, communication, outreach, marketing, and engagement strategies and implementation plans.
  • Manage program scope, schedule, budget, financial feasibility, trends, cost-saving opportunities, and waste-elimination opportunities; forecast delays and develop alternate plans.
  • Create and execute mission-driven events, support hospital and system goals, and develop innovative solutions to improve current practices.
