Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
  • Ability to access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, reports and information.
  • Ability to accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders as needed.
  • Ability to scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 15 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance.
  • Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays, and reliable, prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work full-time hours that may fluctuate according to business needs rather than being guaranteed 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to work in and be exposed to varying temperatures, humidity and other elements while performing certain duties.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
  • Ability to work variable hours, days and shifts, including closing shifts and peak shopping times.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver guest experience commitments and create an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience.
  • Ensure every team member understands, is trained in and consistently delivers Target's guest experience commitments and operational standards.
  • Observe team performance, provide feedback, recognize strong guest experience moments and hold team members accountable.
  • Review guest, financial and team outcome metrics, identify opportunities, take corrective action and align the team on behaviors and execution that improve results and guest experience.
  • Model, train and coach team member expectations under the GUEST service model.
  • Plan daily and weekly workloads, including merchandising sets, sales plans, events and promotions, to deliver department and store sales goals and guest engagement.
  • Lead execution of onboarding, learning and best practices, and help close skill gaps through development, coaching and team interactions.
  • Develop, coach and lead a team of specialty sales consultants with guidance from the direct leader.
  • Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns.
  • Encourage team members to use fitting rooms, testers and displays to welcome, inspire and influence guests through personalized recommendations.
  • Partner with third-party vendors to ensure brand standards and merchandising are met and assigned areas are full and maintained.
  • Support changes and updates to merchandise sets and visual presentations for defined categories.
  • Create inspiring visual moments by ensuring products are organized, signed correctly and merchandised to support seasonal trends.
  • Support backroom processes, organization, layout and sales-floor replenishment to ensure product availability.
  • Participate in team hiring and onboarding processes.
  • Lead the team in maintaining welcoming, clean and safe fitting rooms where applicable.
  • Support the direct leader in establishing goals and expectations and hold team members accountable.
  • Model ethical conduct, safety and compliance, and hold the team accountable to those standards.
  • Lead safety practices by modeling safe behaviors, correcting hazards, assisting with incident response and reporting or investigating injuries accurately and promptly.
  • Model physical security processes and support merchandise protection strategies, including ordering, storage and application.
  • Follow safe and secure training and processes when serving as a key carrier.
  • Occasionally assume store-level leader-on-duty responsibilities during assigned shifts.
  • Address store emergency and compliance needs.
  • Support guest services such as backup cashiering, order pickup and Drive Up while maintaining compliance with applicable adult beverage laws.
  • Perform other duties based on business needs.
