What you’ll do
Team Leadership
- Hire and grow this org from the ground up, fostering strong leaders and mentoring junior talent
- On day one, you’ll be leading a small and scrappy team of software engineers
- You’ll have flexibility and resources to build a world-class infra team
Technical Leadership
- Hold the bar for high technical excellence in your org
- Build infrastructure that levels up other teams’ reliability and scalability
- Continue growing a culture of engineering excellence
Platform Leadership
- Define a clear vision and roadmap for our infrastructure
- Evangelize the platform to the rest of the software team
What you’ll bring
- Experience building software engineering teams
- Experience shaping an organization to move faster as it scales
- Experience building complex distributed infrastructure that supports production loads
- Expertise in modern web technologies and design patterns
- A strong “generalist engineering” mindset, ready to dive in and contribute across many problems across Zipline
- Excitement to be a technical leader and mentor to the organization
Nice to haves
- Experience leading multiple teams at once
- Experience working with AWS
- Experience working with event driven architectures (e.g. Kafka)
- Experience supporting and developing micro service meshes
- Experience working with and designing system that process PHI or protected information
- Experience developing safety-critical application
What else you need to know
The starting cash range for this role is $170,000 - 210,000. Please note that this is a target, starting cash range for a candidate who meets the minimum qualifications for this role. The final cash pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, working location, and projected impact. The total compensation package for this role may also include: equity compensation; discretionary annual or performance bonuses; sales incentives; benefits such as medical, dental and vision insurance; paid time off; and more.
