Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communications or a related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Eight or more years of experience in public relations or corporate communications or related field preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance to the Canada leadership on effective communication methods and offer genuine, meaningful feedback
  • Collaborate with leaders, employees and partners to develop and implement strategic external and internal communication plans that reflect the company’s mission, values, brand, and priorities all while mitigating risk
  • Seek and maintain comprehensive understanding of the business/function
  • Collaborate with communications partners within International and GMPD to follow consistent communications processes, protocols and reporting standards
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the Company’s outside agencies that support Communications and the business
  • Develop processes and protocols for existing and new initiatives and programs
  • External Communications: Develop Public Relations (PR) and thought leadership plans
  • External Communications: Execute and manage PR and thought leadership tactics, including media outreach and speaking engagements
  • External Communications: Create communication deliverables such as scripts, news releases, pitch letters, talking points, thought leadership articles, social media posts, etc.
  • External Communications: Collaborate with Canada Marketing on joint initiatives such as product launches, content marketing initiatives and social media campaigns
  • External Communications: Act as domain expert on business-specific issues and contribute to the company’s crisis communications and business continuity plans, including the development of customer messaging where necessary
  • External Communications: Provide executive communications support, including support for messaging or script development and presentation coaching
  • External Communications: Track and measure external activities
  • Social Media: Oversee the development of organic social media content on Canada’s LinkedIn account in partnership with the International Communications social media lead and Enterprise social media team
  • Social Media: Develop and curate Canada organic social content using both internal and external sources
  • Social Media: Work with Canada Marketing/Creative Services to develop visual assets for social posts
  • Social Media: Manage social media engagements with followers and other external audiences
  • Internal Communications: Create and coordinate internal announcements and change management communications for the business
  • Internal Communications: Create and manage content for internal channels (Essential Update Canada, Intranet, VivaEngage etc.)
  • Internal Communications: Develop content and provide support for key internal meetings (e.g. town halls), leadership meetings and National Sales Meetings
  • Internal Communications: Support internal employee and cultural initiatives
  • Executive Communications: Counsel senior executives and other stakeholders on critical communication issues
  • Executive Communications: Work with senior leadership to anticipate and respond to urgent issues
  • Executive Communications: Create and coordinate executive messages for external and internal stakeholders
