Requirements
  • Degree in electrical engineering or construction management, or trade experience is preferred but not always required.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in electrical construction estimating.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software and advanced Excel skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.

  • Ability to develop and present detailed proposals and qualification packages for large, complex projects.
  • Ability to analyze projects and present value-engineering opportunities.
Responsibilities
  • Thoroughly analyze project plans, specifications, and electrical blueprints to determine the scope, materials, labor, and equipment requirements.
  • Conduct site visits and collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to understand project intricacies and constraints.
  • Lead and mentor the estimating team, providing guidance on best practices, industry trends, and estimation methodologies.
  • Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for complex commercial electrical construction projects.
  • Personally manage complex and high-profile project estimates, including those with unique technical challenges or high financial stakes.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate favorable terms and pricing agreements.
  • Work with project managers and financial teams to create project budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Prepare persuasive and detailed proposals for clients, highlighting the company's capabilities and competitive advantages.
  • Stay up to date with local, state, and national electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ensure that all project estimates and plans comply with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all estimates, proposals, and project-related documentation.
