We are thrilled to go to market for the search of our new Mechanical Design Manager EMEA. This is an exciting position and will be part of a newly formed European Engineering Hub. You will play an integral part in managing a team of multi-disciplined Project Engineers in the UK and across Europe.
As part of the extended global engineering leadership team, you will ensure the timely completion of a variety projects including improvement, sustainability, safety and growth across Europe – ensuring key milestones are achieved and projects delivered on time and budget.
About you
You will be an experienced confident Manager, with a Mechanical Engineering background within manufacturing (Chemical, Oil & Gas, pharma or an FMCG type industry). You will be able to demonstrate the delivery of projects whilst developing and leading a mechanical project engineering team. You will have prominent levels of business acumen, managing budgets and the ability to work in cross collaboration with a host of internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
You will be a forward thinker, with a visionary and strategic outlook – exploring ways to improve project delivery through continuous improvement, team development and process evaluation.
As a true leader, you will pride yourself in the development of your team – working with empathy, understanding and guidance.
As a Health & Safety champion you will ensue your team follows safe working systems and practices, maintain housekeeping standards, taking responsibility for personal actions and the safety of others. Ensure personal compliance with all procedures which control Major Accident Hazards.
The role will require occasional travel across the EMEA region.
What you’ll bring:
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a mechanical engineering discipline.
- Proven experience managing a mechanical bias engineering department.
- Experience in Project Management
- Mechanical Engineering Standards and Regulations
- Knowledge of Chemical Industry Best Practices for mechanical aspects would be a benefit.
