Responsibilities
  • Lead the operational execution of the Bank's Cyber Defense Operations strategy and roadmap.
  • Provide strategic oversight of security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, threat intelligence, threat hunting, insider threat, data loss prevention, and cyber defense engineering functions.
  • Direct the operations and continuous maturation of the Cybersecurity Operations Center, including monitoring, triage, response, escalation, and containment of cybersecurity events.
  • Lead initiatives to modernize cyber defense operations through automation, advanced analytics, threat-informed defense methodologies, AI-enabled capabilities, and operational efficiencies.
  • Provide executive oversight of the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team, including preparedness, incident handling, recovery, after-action reviews, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as or designate the Cyber Incident Commander for high-severity and major incidents, directing cross-functional response and briefing executive stakeholders.
  • Champion automation and orchestration, including security orchestration, automation and response, workflow tooling, and scripting.
  • Own operational performance and reporting for the Cybersecurity Operations Center, Incident Response, and Insider Threat functions.
  • Provide strategic oversight of Insider Threat and Data Loss Prevention programs.
  • Establish, monitor, and report key cyber defense metrics, including alert volumes, detection coverage, response effectiveness, mean time to detect, mean time to respond, threat intelligence effectiveness, data loss prevention investigations, insider threat investigations, and operational maturity.
  • Support integrated cyber defense capabilities through collaboration among Cyber Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, Detection Engineering, Protection Engineering, the Cybersecurity Operations Center, Incident Response, and Insider Threat teams.
  • Direct business and financial resources based on risk assessments, threat landscape changes, and strategic priorities.
  • Monitor and review risk measurement strategies, update procedures and controls, and communicate cyber risk posture to senior leadership.
  • Represent the organization in regulatory examinations, industry forums, audits, and cybersecurity engagements involving security operations, cyber resilience, and incident response.
  • Create and execute workforce plans, including mentoring and coaching cybersecurity leaders, succession planning, workforce development, skills assessments, and cultivating accountability, innovation, resilience, and continuous learning.
  • Exercise managerial authority over staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management, and terminations.
  • Design, implement, maintain, and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk, and escalate risk-related issues to management.
  • Maintain internal control standards and implement internal and external audit findings and applicable regulatory issues.
  • Oversee two or more cybersecurity functions, teams, or departments.
  • Act as a lead cybersecurity representative with regulators when required.
  • Develop and execute budgets for the functions and teams overseen.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience leading enterprise Security Operations Center or Cybersecurity Operations Center organizations within a large, highly regulated financial institution.
  • Experience overseeing Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, Detection Engineering, Insider Threat, and Data Loss Prevention programs.
  • Deep understanding of threat-informed defense methodologies, ransomware preparedness, and cyber resilience principles.
  • Experience with security information and event management, security orchestration, automation and response, endpoint detection and response, network detection and response, threat intelligence platforms, and advanced cybersecurity analytics technologies.
  • Experience supporting regulatory examinations, audit engagements, and cyber resilience reviews.
  • Demonstrated success leading cybersecurity transformation initiatives involving automation, AI-enabled operations, and operational excellence.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing cybersecurity organizations through periods of growth, modernization, and change.

Charles River Associates expands credit facility to $400M with six-bank syndicate

Charles River Associates has expanded its credit facility to $400 million through a six-bank lending syndicate. The five-year agreement includes a $75 million term loan and a $325 million revolving credit facility, replacing a previous $300 million facility set to mature in August 2027. The revolving facility can be reduced to $250 million between 16 July and 15 January each year when working-capital requirements are lower. CRA will use proceeds to repay outstanding borrowings, support working capital, fund growth investments, and cover general corporate purposes. The lending group includes Bank of America, Citizens Financial Group, Eastern Bank, and Beacon Bank & Trust, with BMO and M&T Bank joining as new lenders. The expanded facility provides additional liquidity as the consulting firm invests in its global economic, financial, and management advisory operations.

HEICO closes $1.2B senior notes offering to fund future acquisitions

HEICO Corporation has closed a $1.2 billion senior notes offering, comprising $550 million in 4.950% notes due 2031 and $650 million in 5.400% notes due 2036. The aerospace and defence company will use the proceeds to pay down borrowings under its $2.2 billion revolving credit agreement, maintaining capacity for future acquisitions. Co-Chairmen Eric and Victor Mendelson said the notes received investment grade ratings, building on HEICO's inaugural issuance in 2023. Chief Financial Officer Carlos Macau noted the offering expands the company's capital sources and provides greater flexibility for continued growth. HEICO designs and produces products for aviation, defence, space, medical, telecommunications and electronics industries through its Flight Support Group and Electronic Technologies Group.

M&T Bank reports record Q2 2026 earnings of $818M with $5.32 per share and 10.19% CET1 ratio

M&T Bank Corporation reported second quarter 2026 net income of $818 million, or $5.32 diluted earnings per share, marking record earnings for the quarter. Taxable-equivalent net interest income increased $41 million from the first quarter, driven by an additional calendar day, higher interest income on nonaccrual loans, and growth in average earning assets. The net interest margin held steady at 3.70%. Average loan balances rose $3.0 billion quarter-on-quarter across all categories, including $2.3 billion growth in commercial and industrial loans. Commercial real estate loans increased $1.1 billion from March 31, 2026. The allowance for loan losses declined one basis point to 1.52% of total loans. During the quarter, M&T repurchased 2.1 million shares for $465 million, with the CET1 capital ratio estimated at 10.19%.
