  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
  • Minimum five years related human resources experience in a similar environment
  • Professional HR certification preferred but not required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and familiar with Workday HRIS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly trusted at all levels of the organization
  • Extensive employee relations’ background including familiarity with all compliance and related employment-law issues
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate large and/or small group meetings
  • Solid track record as an HR generalist with knowledge of benefits, worker's comp, workplace safety, compensation, employee communication and training and Organizational Development.
Responsibilities
  • Ensures that the necessary human resources services are delivered in a cost-effective manner to support the business plan/budget.
  • Works with the Director of HR Plant Operations to standardize and implement new policies and procedures.
  • Acts as Lead Change Agent in the implementation of new policies and procedures.
  • Proactively communicates potential problems, issues and challenges as needed.
  • Works across enterprise to resolve issues.
  • Supports a 'Safety First' work environment.
  • Maintains records and compiles statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, turnover, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
  • Handles high profile and difficult employee relations issues, including, but not limited to, dealing with understaffing, resolving disputes, terminating employment, and administering disciplinary procedures.
  • Maintains harmonious employee relations.
  • Identifies training needs in support of such efforts.
  • Provides current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits.
