Requirements
  • At least 3 years of liability claim experience or insurance-related experience, or equivalent education.
  • Experience handling claims in the Illinois jurisdiction.
  • Proven multi-line claims experience.
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with internal and external parties.
  • Strong organizational abilities and the ability to coordinate and prioritize work.
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate and adjust multi-line liability claims in accordance with established claims-handling procedures, CCMSI guidelines, and direct supervision.
  • Investigate and evaluate claims involving damage to commercial property, inland marine equipment, and automobiles.
  • Review medical, legal, and miscellaneous invoices to determine whether they are reasonable and related to ongoing liability claims, and negotiate disputed bills for resolution.
  • Authorize and pay multi-line liability claims using a claim payment program in accordance with industry standards and within settlement authority.
  • Negotiate settlements with claimants and attorneys in accordance with client authorization.
  • Assist in selecting and supervising defense attorneys.
  • Assess and monitor subrogation claims for resolution.
  • Prepare reports detailing claims, payments, and reserves.
  • Provide reports and monitor files as required by excess insurers.
  • Comply with service commitments established by the team.
  • Deliver quality claim service to clients.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a desk adjuster for commercial property, inland marine, and auto claims is strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish proficiency is highly valued for communicating with claimants, employers, or vendors, but is not required.
  • A bachelor's degree in Risk Management or an Insurance-related program is preferred.
  • An associate degree is preferred.

It manages claims and offers risk management and cost-containment strategies for self-insured entities, including group self-insurance associations.
