Requirements
  • The candidate must be a qualified and experienced Non-Medical Prescriber.
  • The candidate must have at least one year's relevant and recent experience working within substance misuse treatment.
  • The candidate must have sound and demonstrable knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventions.
  • The candidate must be able to assess service users, develop recovery plans, and formulate written reports as necessary.
  • The candidate must be able to communicate confidently and effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • The role is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
  • Applicants must already have the right to work in the United Kingdom; the role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat service users by providing care tailored to their needs.
  • Prescribe or adjust opiate and/or alcohol substitute treatments and other related medications.
  • Develop the prescribing clinic.
  • Act as an expert resource for colleagues and partner agencies on prescribing matters.
  • Support people on their recovery journey through a compassionate and professional approach that helps service users achieve their goals.
