  • A complete understanding of technical principles, policies, and procedures is required in one or more of the following modalities: General Radiology and/or Computed Tomography.
  • Radiation safety/protection.
  • Understanding of current departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Understands contraindications and potential hazards of different exams.
  • Understands the concepts of: Continuous Quality Improvement, Quality Control, MSDS Program, Infection Control and HIPPA Compliance.
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff members of the diagnostic imaging department, staff member of other departments, and medical staff.
  • The ability to deal with patients from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds in an effective and respectful manner.
  • The ability to perform numerous duties at a given time.
  • Ability to perform Special Procedures examinations with skill, accuracy, compassion, and tact.
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions of technical nature.

Responsibilities
  • Performs computerized tomographic (CT) examinations and procedures in the CT service areas.
  • Provides general radiology and fluoroscopic imaging in the radiology, emergency department, surgery and portable bedside service areas.
  • Processes images via CR (Computer Radiography) and PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System).
  • Prepares records of service performed.
  • Makes adjustments to equipment.
  • Reports any malfunctioning equipment to their Supervisor/Manager.
  • Transports patients to and from the department.
  • Works efficiently to maintain scheduled patient appointments and unscheduled patient exams.
  • Works with high risk and critically ill patients.
Desired Qualifications
  • Minimum two (2) years of general radiology experience plus one year computed tomography experience, including experience or successful completion of training program (pre-hire, post-hire, or on-the-job) in area of specialty, if applicable.
  • Experience in an acute care hospital
