Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain and active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • The ability to obtain and gain access to shipyards (NAVSTA & DBIDS), undergo a background investigation and pass a drug screening
  • The ability to obtain an OSHA 10 certification
  • The ability to get respirator qualified and wear PPE throughout the work shift.
  • Experience in electrical work in a related field and shipboard experience.
  • A combination of 1+ years of experience in the following areas: Competency attaching fiber optic, RJ-45, DB type connectors
  • A combination of 1+ years of experience in the following areas: Read drawings (Tradesman level)

  • The ability to work in high heat spaces, climb shipyard dry dock stairs/ladders, work in kneeling position for layout of cable runs under false decking, lift up to 50 pounds with 80% of work requiring carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 40 pounds for majority of shift while being in a standing, crouching, or walking position.
  • Attention to safety, which is critical
  • The ability and willing to travel up to 10% to various work sites
  • The ability to travel to Newport News, VA.
Responsibilities
  • Support and deliver SI2 Installation support for Ship modernization projects, working with the customer to deliver installation services
  • Provide support in integration, installation, repair, and testing services for new and upgraded systems/equipment
  • Work with the team in Newport News community to fulfill SI2 Installation support requirements
  • Travel up to 10% to various work sites as needed
