Department: Data Acquisition and Strategy
Position Overview:
The mandate of the Data Associate is to manage and procure alternative data sources for investment research. As part of the team, you will work closely with the investment community to define and synthesize areas of interest, manage the acquisition of data sets, and maintain data relationships for the firm.
- Oversee day-to-day monitoring of existing alternative data vendor relationships and enforce data efforts across the business
- Work with front and back-office stakeholders across the organization to deliver data solutions across a wide range of asset classes, geographies, and instrument types
- Collaborate with Data Science and Engineering team to implement solutions to maintain data integrity such as timely data downloads, status reports and data clean-up scripts
- Assist in management front/middle office requests to ensure data is properly evaluated, implemented, and risk assessed
- Deliver expense analytics and usage reporting to data vendors
- Participate in corporate strategy initiatives which includes, advanced data inquires and coordinating with management team on other business management efforts
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3+ years of experience working with data vendors
- Knowledge of financial instruments and industry lexicon
- Experience negotiating terms of service and contracts
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to think quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to interact effectively with numerous internal teams and stakeholders in a collaborative, team-oriented culture
The minimum base salary for this role is $60,000 if located in New York. This expectation is based on available information at the time of posting. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, which could constitute a significant portion of total compensation. This role may also be eligible for benefits, such as health, dental, and other wellness plans, as well as 401(k) contributions.
