Requirements
  • Working toward a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related degree.
  • Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of Mechanical Engineering.
  • Ability to solve technical and business issues in a logical manner.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to U.S. Government contract requirements.
  • Eligibility for a Department of Defense Personal Security Clearance.
  • Ability to work overtime and shifts as needed.
  • Ability to travel within the continental United States.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods, lift 25 pounds to various heights, and climb stairs.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with activities of a small- to medium-scale program.
  • Resolve technical problems and provide technical support to suppliers and manufacturing.
  • Participate in installations and final sell-off of training devices.
  • Coordinate and review technical and operational deliverables before submission to the customer.
  • Undertake independent studies, analyses, interpretations, and conclusions.
  • Perform product development activities, including parametric computer-aided design modeling, drawing creation, and interpretation and implementation of customer specifications and documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate engineering activities with peers and management in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Perform other engineering and non-engineering duties as required by the supervisor.
  • Comply with company security and data protection policies and procedures, including proper marking and handling of information and materials.
  • Remain on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for resolution of problems and issues.
Desired Qualifications
  • Machine shop experience and familiarity with hand tools.
  • Hands-on support of manufacturing.
  • Experience with Model-Based Engineering and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Experience with SolidWorks, Creo, or a similar parametric computer-aided design tool.
  • Simulation experience.

CAE reports Q1 revenue of $1.17B, up 6.8% year-over-year, maintains fiscal 2027 outlook

CAE reported first quarter fiscal 2027 results with revenue of $1,173.4 million, up 6.8% year-over-year from $1,098.6 million. Earnings per share declined to $0.10 from $0.18 in the prior year, whilst adjusted EPS remained flat at $0.26. The Montreal-based company generated free cash flow of $104.0 million and maintained a net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio of 2.27x. Civil Aviation revenue rose 5.6% to $641.6 million, though profitability decreased. Defence and Security revenue increased 8.3% to $531.8 million with continued margin expansion. CAE's transformation plan progressed during the quarter, including a review of strategic alternatives for Flightscape and plans to close four to six Civil training centres. The company targets $125 million to $150 million in annual transformation run-rate savings by fiscal 2030. Management maintained its unchanged fiscal 2027 outlook.

CAE beats Q4 earnings and revenue estimates with $0.31 per share on $967M revenues
