  • Seven years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience;
  • OR Four years of related experience AND a Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Advanced experience in leading, managing and supervising an HR team supporting a decentralized organization.
  • Experience hiring, training, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Experience developing strategic plans, supporting the agency mission and delivery of centralized services.
  • Experience creating a stable, supportive work environment that fosters professional growth.
  • Transformational leadership experience and demonstrated ability to effectively influence and engage others to impact organizational – wide, systems change.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of racial equity, diversity, and inclusion and effective and meaningful public engagement practices.
  • In depth knowledge of governance initiatives and best practices related to racial equity, diversity, and inclusion and meaningful and meaningful public engagement in the private and/or public sectors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including ability to communicate clearly and effectively in high-pressure situations and identify an audience’s needs and tailor information accordingly.
Responsibilities
  • Directing, managing, and overseeing human resource services for an agency of approximately 800 permanent and 700 seasonal positions throughout the state.
  • Leading the development and implementation of forward-thinking HR policies and practices that support a diverse workforce and empower employees to thrive.
  • Supervising a team of seven human resource professionals to support these efforts.
