Aderant has opened early access to its Agent Center, offering law firms AI agents designed for operational tasks including financial management and work-to-cash processes. The programme was unveiled at ILTACON 2026. Built on the Stridyn platform and powered by MADDI, Agent Center provides seven purpose-built AI agents that work with firms' licensed Aderant product data. The agents can monitor, prioritise, recommend, and draft whilst keeping users in control of final decisions. The portfolio includes Appeals, Collections, Talent, and Time agents, already in early access. Three additional agents launched at ILTACON: Compliance, GL Forecasting, and Rate agents. The Agent Center is delivered through Aderant's cloud and AI-native Stridyn platform. The early access programme is now open to law firms through Aderant.com.
Aderant launches Early Access to AI agents built to enhance law firm operations. Law firms can now put purpose-built AI agents to work on the operational tasks that slow them down - from billing to collections - through Agent Center, built on Stridyn and powered by MADDI. ATLANTA, GA - August 25, 2026 - Aderant, a leading global provider of legal business management software, today opened Early Access to the Aderant Agent Center, giving clients the first hands-on opportunity to deploy AI agents purpose-built for the operational work that keeps legal business running: financial management, work-to-cash, and beyond. Unveiled at ILTACON 2026, the program marks a defining step in Aderant's strategy to build an open, extensible AI ecosystem that lets firms automate real operational workflows, not just experiment with generic AI. Built on the Stridyn platform and powered by MADDI, Agent Center delivers a growing portfolio of purpose-built AI agents. Rather than general-purpose AI tools, Agent Center starts with a firm's own business context, so every interaction draws on licensed Aderant product data. Agents can monitor, prioritize, recommend, and draft, while users remain the final decision makers throughout every workflow. "Law firms want the benefits of AI without giving up the control and confidence they've built into how they run their business," said Josiah Chaves, Chief Client Officer at Aderant. "Agent Center is a proof point for what we mean by Innovation Realized. These are purpose-built AI agents, grounded in a firm's own data, that help teams move faster on the work that matters most, while keeping people in the loop on every decision." Purpose-Built AI agents, not general-purpose prompting. Agent Center's portfolio is growing to seven purpose-built agents, each designed around a high-value operational workflow. Appeals, Collections, Talent and Time, which has since been added following the announcement of the Aderant Agent Center at Momentum Global 2026, agents are already in an Early Access Program (EAP): * Appeals Agent - Helps billing teams maximize revenue recovery by identifying and prioritizing high-value appeal opportunities and drafting supporting rationale for review. * Collections Agent - Helps firms accelerate cash collection by prioritizing accounts, surfacing aging trends and payment risk, and recommending next-best actions and outreach. * Talent Agent - Brings together fragmented performance evidence across matters, time narratives, feedback, learning, and prior reviews to give managers a complete, evidence-based view of associate performance, enabling faster, more consistent evaluations and better-informed talent decisions. * Time Agent - Helps timekeepers create clearer, more compliant time entries by improving narratives, flagging billing risk, and recommending codes. By strengthening the time narrative at the point of entry, it helps produce more complete, review-ready entries with a lower probability of downstream deductions. At ILTACON 2026, Aderant is opening three more agents for early access: * Compliance Agent - Helps firms interpret and operationalize Outside Counsel Guidelines, comparing requirements across clients and matters and supporting more consistent, automated billing and compliance controls. * General Ledger (GL) Forecasting Agent - Helps finance leaders anticipate future performance by combining forward-looking general ledger forecasts with recent actuals, confidence ranges, and variance analysis across accounts, offices, and departments. * Rates Agent - Gives firms a trusted, explainable view of which billing rates apply, why they apply, and how they've changed, replacing spreadsheet- and email-driven rate campaigns with a governed workflow for requests, approvals, and supporting evidence. "Agent Center reflects a shift we're seeing across the industry, from isolated automation to intelligent systems that coordinate work across the business," said Lisa Erickson, SVP of Product Management and AI at Aderant. "These agents are purpose-built for legal operations, not general-purpose AI bolted onto a firm's workflows. They surface the right context at the right moment so people can make faster and better-informed decisions without interrupting their day-to-day business operations." One extensible Aderant ecosystem. Agent Center is delivered through Aderant's Stridyn platform, the shared cloud and AI-native foundation that connects the Aderant product line. The Agent Center Early Access Program is open to law firms now, and firms can request an EAP conversation with Aderant's product team at any time through Aderant.com. Firms attending ILTACON 2026, held August 23-27 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee can also visit Aderant at booth #219 to see a live Agent Center demonstration and discuss EAP fit and requirements in person. Aderant has launched an integration between its iTimekeep time-tracking system and Harvey, an AI-powered operating system for legal services. The integration, announced in December 2025 and now generally available, automatically converts legal work performed in Harvey into draft time entries in iTimekeep. The system captures work such as drafting, research, and analysis, then generates draft entries with matter context, duration, and AI-created narratives. Lawyers can review and edit these drafts before submission, following their firm's approval process. The integration aims to reduce administrative burden for lawyers whilst maintaining existing billing controls. Harvey is used by over 2,400 customers across 70 countries and is backed by investors including Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, and Andreessen Horowitz. Aderant operates as a business unit of Roper Technologies.
Chris Cartrett will step down as president and CEO of Aderant, a global provider of business management software for law firms, effective 1st August 2026. He will become chief executive officer at ImageTrend, which provides software and data analytics for emergency services and public safety agencies. Cartrett joined Aderant in 2014 and became president and CEO in 2021. During his tenure, he helped shape the company's strategic direction and strengthened its position as a technology partner to leading law firms. Deane Price will rejoin Aderant as interim CEO on 20th July whilst a formal search for a permanent successor is conducted. Price previously served as Aderant's CEO from 2017 to 2021. Aderant operates as a business unit of Roper Technologies.
Aderant's CEO Chris Cartrett takes new role outside of legal. * July 14, 2026 Legal Technology asked Chris Cartrett and Josiah Chaves about the new opportunity and implications for existing customers. Aderant's president & chief executive officer Chris Cartrett is to step down in August to take on the role of CEO at ImageTrend, which provides software and data analytics solutions for emergency medical services, fire departments, hospitals, and public safety agencies. Deane Price, who was CEO from 2017 to 2021, will rejoin Aderant as interim CEO beginning July 20th while a formal search is being conducted for Cartrett's replacement. It opens up the most senior role at one of the most widely used technology providers in the sector. Aderant's broader leadership team remains unchanged, with the exception of its CTO, with Andy Hoyt having departed in June. Since joining Aderant in 2014, Cartrett has served in several executive leadership roles, including senior vice president of strategy & growth; executive vice president; and president & CEO since 2021. Aderant is owned by listed company Roper Technologies, which in an earnings call in April this year noted that it has been an "amazing few years" from Aderant. Roper's CEO and president Neil Hunn said: "Aderant delivered a record quarter, strong revenue growth and a new Q1 bookings record. Strength was broad-based with particularly strong SaaS momentum on Sierra, Onyx and viGlobal. Aderant also launched AI-driven talent evaluation within viGlobal, continued the rollout of a Stridyn AI platform and completed a record number of Sierra Cloud migrations in the quarter." Cartrett said: "It has been the privilege of my career to serve as president and CEO of Aderant. I am incredibly proud of what our team has accomplished and am grateful for the relationships we've built with our clients and partners. The opportunity to lead Aderant has been an honor, and I leave knowing the company is stronger than ever. We've combined exceptional new talent with the deep experience and institutional knowledge that has always defined Aderant. Having worked alongside leaders like Josiah Chaves and Aisling Fenelon for more than a decade - and watching them grow into the leaders they are today - gives me tremendous confidence in the future of this company. They, along with the broader executive team, are exceptionally well positioned to lead Aderant into its next chapter." Legal Technology asked Cartrett and Chaves about the new opportunity and implications for existing customers. Congratulations on the new role Chris! What made you decide to leave Legal Technology in legal? This is just a unique opportunity for myself in a space that really interest me. ImageTrend is a leader in the emergency response market helping EMS, fire and hospitals make better, faster decisions to improve care. I have been at Aderant for 12 years, and in the legal space for off and on nearly 30. Aderant is killing it and the team is stronger than ever. I know the momentum at Aderant will only continue to grow. This just feels like the right time for me to move into my next chapter. How come you're not finding a replacement before leaving? Aderant is a very special place. Roper and the leadership team at Aderant are being incredibly purposeful in their search. The culture at Aderant is unique. The next CEO will have to fit into the dynamic culture. Deane Price returning as interim will be a seamless transition to ensure continuity with clients and its team. The vision and strategy are sound and the team is executing. No need to rush anything. Is there a replacement for Andy yet? Not yet, but that is not really a concern. As I have mentioned on many occasions, Legal Technology has a very talented development team with strong leaders in place. Aderant is a truly AI-native organization, not just within its products, but also in how Legal Technology operate internally. The next CTO must be on par with how the team is currently performing and raise the bar even higher. There are very few people who have that skill set, so once again, the leadership team is being purposeful in their search. Finding the right CTO is more important than finding any CTO. I'm wondering if this will be unsettling for customers - Josiah, what do you think? Actually, clients have been very supportive of Chris's decision. Legal Technology just had another record quarter, and I have spoken with a great many of its clients about his transition. They are confident in its vision and have realized the value of what Legal Technology has delivered to date. Legal Technology is excited about where Aderant continues to grow. Aderant has always had a client-centric culture, and Legal Technology remain committed to delivering for all of them. Legal Technology wish Chris the absolute best in his new role!
