Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current Registered Nurse state licensure.
  • Experience in clinical nursing.
  • At least 6 months of chronic or acute dialysis nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies and management skills, including communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, results orientation, team building, motivating employees, performance management, and decision making.
  • Management skills necessary to supervise facility personnel and ensure maximum quality care for patients.
  • Successful completion of the Ishihara Color Blind Test.
  • Ability to perform frequent prolonged periods of standing and bend over.
  • Ability, with assistance, to move patients and equipment weighing up to 200 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee daily facility operations in accordance with legal, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and Clinical Manager or Charge Nurse to provide quality patient care from admission through discharge.
  • Make daily decisions to ensure continuity of care and patient and staff safety.
  • Market available services through presentations to physicians and dialysis facilities.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for all direct reports.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Quality, Education, and Technical Services departments.
  • Oversee the facility’s Home Therapies Program with the Home Therapies Program Manager.
  • Maintain medical and operational records and comply with data collection and auditing activities.
  • Complete Internal Classification of Disease coding and required network reporting.
  • Coordinate on-site state and federal surveys.
  • Manage short- and long-term objectives, including costs, methods, staffing, and results.
  • Administer daily dialysis clinic business operations, including center staff, patient care quality, physical plant, equipment, and inventory control.
  • Manage profit and loss and other financial aspects of the center to achieve budget and key performance indicators.
  • Coordinate patient care from admission through discharge.
  • Address patient and family concerns and questions.
  • Oversee timely completion of patient care assessments and care plans.
  • Manage patient schedules and develop action plans for missed treatments.
  • Report changes in patient status involving clinical, insurance, travel, or transportation issues.
  • Participate in selecting and hiring new team members and ensure completion of orientation and mandatory training.
  • Ensure patient care employees complete required training and maintain current licenses and certifications.
  • Support clinical staff and encourage professional growth.
  • Maintain knowledge of company benefits, policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Obtain clinical feedback, establish annual goals, and conduct employee evaluations.
  • Document disciplinary actions and consult with the Director of Operations and Human Resources.
  • Manage staff scheduling and payroll.
  • Facilitate physician privileges and compliance with Medical Staff By-Laws.
  • Maintain physician relationships and regular communication.
  • Participate in the regional Governing Body.
  • Implement continuous quality improvement and Quality Assessment and Improvement programs.
  • Review clinic operations for compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Support quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee training and risk-management compliance.
  • Address adverse safety events and action thresholds with the Charge RN.
  • Communicate and implement quality policies and procedures.
  • Manage facility staff workload and daily activities.
  • Create and communicate employee schedules according to facility staffing needs.
  • Optimize clinical staffing with the Charge RN and Medical Director.
  • Provide ongoing informal feedback and formal annual performance evaluations.
  • Manage staffing through hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure new-hire orientation, training, licensure documentation, and in-service training.
  • Provide training and guidance to develop staff clinical competencies.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources regarding employee benefits and policies.
  • Maintain communication of corporate and division initiatives to facility staff.
  • Contribute to business growth using knowledge of company services and products.
  • Maintain facility environmental integrity and safety.
  • Schedule maintenance and repair of equipment, operating systems, and physical structures.
  • Monitor facility security.
  • Coordinate inventory and supply management and approve purchase orders.
  • Manage medication, laboratory, inventory, supply, and equipment utilization.
  • Contribute to facility policies, procedures, and manuals.
  • Direct information gathering supporting billing, billing issues, and collections.
  • Coordinate and approve facility payroll.
  • Participate in internal and external state and federal surveys.
  • Review provider contracts for vendor services.
  • Supervise Charge RN and DPC staff.
  • Interact with patients, facility staff, and physicians in a healthcare facility.
  • Travel to regional, Business Unit, and Corporate meetings as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role in a medical facility.
  • Medical-surgical or intensive care unit/coronary care unit experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with medical database software.
