Requirements
  • Four years of experience in work involving a variety of layout, installation, and maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to pass a drug test as mandated by Saulsbury Industries and the Department of Transportation anti-drug program.
  • Must attend and successfully complete Saulsbury Industries safety training education.
  • Ability to take needed safety precautions in performing the work.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb 30-foot ladders without resting.
  • Ability to maintain balance on catwalks and narrow workspaces.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, written instructions, technical manuals, safety procedures, and parts catalogs.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to exchange routine and technical information with coworkers, supervisors, and other personnel.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate construction activities.
  • Ability to evaluate work conditions and quality and make decisions regarding courses of action.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect work sites to take dimensions, lay out work, and estimate materials required.
  • Build concrete forms, prepare foundations, pour concrete, and assist with rebar installations.
  • Use a variety of hand, power, and shop tools and maintain them in proper operating condition.
  • Work from sketches, blueprints, or pictures.
  • Inspect and analyze carpentry work and assist in determining the carpentry work to be done.
  • Estimate amounts of materials and equipment needed for various types of carpentry construction work.
  • Determine methods and materials needed to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Perform lock-out and tag-out procedures when needed to secure and deactivate equipment, and check local switch points to ensure proper lock-out procedures are used.
  • Perform work-area cleanup and safety-related duties.
  • Work in operating facilities while observing and abiding by additional safety policies and procedures.
  • Promote awareness of environmental, health, and safety policies and ensure compliance with accompanying policies.
  • Attend safety meetings and specialty training as directed by management.
  • Attend various training classes as assigned by management.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Respond to requests to work overtime when conditions warrant and when directed by management.
