Requirements
- Passion for Brigit's mission and drive to developing affordable financial products for the underserved
- 5+ years of analytical experience, preferably at a FinTech company, and at least 3+ years of experience in a consumer credit risk role
- Curiosity to learn about data, models, and algorithms
- Ability to collaborate and influence across different teams in the organization
- Excellent SQL programming skills, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, experience in Python (or R or SAS or similar language)
- Exceptional detail-orientation and organizational skills. You are eager to solve challenging analytical problems for the business
- The drive to work in a fast-paced environment and exceed ambitions deadlines while ensuring flawless completion
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Responsibilities
- Enable sustainable growth while closely managing the profitability and resilience of the portfolio
- Analyze loss trends and fine-tune strategies to optimize approval and loss performance
- Design and develop new credit, pricing, limit setting policies for our Core Instant Cash product
- Thinking through credit policies for new initiatives and products
- Shaping ongoing testing and experimentation
- Navigating any exogenous changes. Monitor macroeconomic trends impacting loan performance and drive adjustments to our underwriting and marketing strategies to mitigate risk
- Very collaborative role, requires working cross-functionally with various teams - Data Science, Product, Engineering, Finance, and Legal/Compliance:
- Work with Data Science teams to identify and evaluate new features with differentiation power for credit risk and to improve our underwriting and modeling frameworks
- Work with product team to develop new products and features to improve unit economics
- Work with Finance to customize pricing, allowance policies and loss forecasting/ DQs
- Evaluate external data and come up with strategies leveraging external data source
- Develop a robust valuations and monitoring infrastructure. Leverage this valuations ownership to come up with insights on how to think about the unit economics of the business
- Advise and mentor your peers with an eye towards up-leveling our analytical sophistication, especially regarding risk mitigation
- Own dashboards and monitor performance to highlight any anomalies or unusual loss trends
Desired Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, Finance, or other quantitative disciplines; a Master's degree with a quantitative focus is a plus
