Certified Medical Assistant – Ambulatory Care – Full Time-Days

Light up the room with your presence. Provide compassionate patient focus and superior customer service -keeping our fast-paced environments running smoothly. Coordinate appointments and perform general clerical duties at the unit nursing station to assure the timely, efficient and accurate flow of patient information. Welcome and direct visitors and hospital colleagues to appropriate areas. Cultivate a courteous and respectful demeanor while multitasking between people and responsibilities.
This Primary Care Center provides Adult Primary Care services in addition to subspecialties- Gastroenterology, Pulmonary, Nephrology, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Dermatology and Allergy; it’s the NYPQ center that has a Residency Program. The center offers Employee Testing PCR Swabbing. It should be noted that majority of Colonoscopy and other procedures that are performed at the hospital from patients that are pipelined through this clinic.
The schedule is Monday through Friday (Saturday occasionally), with varied starts between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. based on departmental need.
Preferred Criteria
Experience in an outpatient setting or experience with family practice
Able to assist patient with ambulation
Experience with Phlebotomy and processing specimens, EKG, Point of Care Testing , Vital Sign, Weight/ Height intake
Experience with screenings
Experiencing with Chaperoned patient
Adheres to infection Control practices – hand washing, cleaning equipment and exam room’s in-between patient use.
Adheres to HIPAA and NYP Code of Conduct
Experience with an EMR- Epic / Athena
Experience with patient flow
Bilingual English/Spanish
Required Criteria
Graduate of a State and/or Nationally accredited Medical Associate Program with certification as a Medical Assistant
High School Diploma
