Job Description:
The CT Tech-Lead ensures optimal safety, quality, satisfaction, engagement, compliance, operations, staffing, processes, efficiency, training, mentoring, etc. at Tellica Imaging. The CT Tech-Lead provides managerial oversight of clinical operations and provides critical frontline support to patients. The CT Tech-Lead establishes proper handoff procedures between Tellica staff, ensures consistency for care delivery, and provides scheduled reports to Tellica Management. The CT Tech-Lead performs a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This position uses ingenuity, initiative, and independent judgement to perform high quality scans.

- Ensures patient, caregiver, and guest safety and satisfaction in accordance with existing principles and standards.
- Ensures provision of high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic Imaging services in an operationally effective and efficient manner.
- Promotes caregiver engagement and team initiatives. Assists in hiring, orienting, training, staffing, retaining, evaluating, and motivating competent engaged caregivers.
- Maintains positive relationships within the department and facility including other departments, radiologists, referring physicians, and customers.
- Early adopter, exemplar, implementer, super user, problem solver, champion, and idea generator.* Verifies that clinics have sufficient materials, supplies, resources, etc. to perform daily functions.
- Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
- Performs exams per department protocol.
- Understands cross sectional anatomy and demonstrates anatomical positioning competency.
- Demonstrates ability to critique own films.
- Completes studies within acceptable time limitations per department expectations without compromising patient care or the quality of the examination.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of protocol relating to contrast administration.
- As ordered by the physician and under radiologist or physician supervision administers oral barium products or intravenous contrast material to patients.
- Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
- Provides appropriate patient education and ensures patient comfort.
- Understands and operates CT equipment and related information systems appropriately to ensure that quality images are produced.
- Exhibits working knowledge of contrast injectors and laser printers.
- Exhibits understanding and proficiency with electronic imaging. Incumbent will be able to view, transfer and manipulate images.
- Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.
- Follows appropriate protocol for medical necessity, coding and charging, obtaining consents if necessary, documenting any events that may occur for quality, maintaining a current QC program for ACR and reporting any equipment failures or problems.
- Functions as education liaison for new students, trainer for new employee orientation, Superuser for equipment, hospital/system group discussions or committees as the CT representative as delegated per local department manager.
Shift Details
- Full Time (36 hours a week)
- 3 - 12 hour shifts/week
- 7:00 am - 7:00 pm. Rotating Monday - Wednesday & Thursday - Saturday.
Minimum Qualifications
*CT Tech Lead
- Current licensure in state of practice as a Radiologic Technologist.
- CT registered technologist with ARRT.
- Basic life support (BLS) certified for healthcare providers.
- Intermountain IV certified.
- Three years of experience in CT.
*MRI Tech Lead
- Current licensure in Utah as a Radiologic Technologist.
- MR registered technologist with ARRT.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
- Intermountain IV certified
- Three years of experience in MRI.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
