  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification is required.
  • Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school, or at least one year of verifiable applicable work experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in a patient-care setting, is required.
  • Current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant through an accepted certifying agency is required.
  • No prior experience is required when the training pathway is completed.
Responsibilities
  • Assemble and apply different types of casts and various braces according to physician orders.
  • Assist with transporting patients.
  • Perform duties directly related to the orthopedic technician function.
  • Assist orthopedic surgeons as requested.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Indicator activities as assigned.
  • Perform patient rounds, charting, charging, regular equipment cleaning, and in-service education related to orthopedic technician services.
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance and comply with organizational policies and applicable standards.
