Requirements
  • Must possess a high school diploma.
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience as an administrative assistant.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a 40-hour HAZWOPER certification immediately upon employment.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must have general computer skills and the ability to learn the ESSOH-MIS waste-tracking software.
  • Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Adobe Acrobat; and databases.
  • Must have no record that would prohibit access to military installations or government computer systems.
  • Must pass background checks for installation access and, if applicable, a Department of Defense Common Access Card for government computer-system access.
  • Must pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening for federally illicit substances, including cannabis and its derivatives.
  • Must be able to perform light physical labor, including kneeling, standing, walking, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Proof of United States citizenship is required as a condition of employment.
  • May be required to obtain and hold a Secret or higher United States Government clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Generate reports from government databases.
  • Answer and route phone calls and take messages.
  • Greet walk-in customers.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings.
  • Perform general clerical duties.
  • Assist in generating and creating monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables.
  • Perform data entry.
  • Perform filing and recordkeeping tasks.
  • Adhere strictly to safety program requirements.
  • Provide customer service and maintain client relations.
  • Maintain work-area, office, and facility cleanliness.
  • Create documents, including PDFs, Word documents, and spreadsheets.
  • Accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Coordinate with other members of the Hazardous Waste Center crew.
  • Interface with the client to answer document and records requests.
  • Track manifests and record waste pick-up and container drop-off requests.
  • Organize data and create spreadsheets.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisors and Project Manager.

  • Local residence in Fairbanks, Alaska.
