- At least 5 years of maintenance experience is required.
- Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning is required.
- Skill in drywall, plaster, painting, and carpentry is required.
- Ability to identify issues, determine repairs, and plan maintenance schedules is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software is required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.
- General knowledge of safety rules and regulations is required.
- The ability to communicate effectively and provide customer service is required.
- The candidate must have their own tools.
- Evaluate systems or facilities to determine required maintenance or repairs.
- Assess building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
- Hire and train maintenance department staff.
- Organize and oversee the schedules and work of maintenance staff.
- Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.
- Handle employee discipline as needed and in accordance with company policy.
- Develop maintenance procedures and schedules.
- Ensure maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Assist with departmental budget estimates and the costs of specific repair projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
