Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal laws involving employment, human resources, and benefits administration, including FMLA, HIPAA, and ACA.
  • Extensive knowledge of benefits plan designs and contract language.
  • Ability to analyze data and make strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to navigate various software, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Knowledge of employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Minimum five years of experience managing and administering benefits programs, including open enrollment, leave administration, and compliance.
  • Minimum five years of experience with HRIS software.
  • Minimum three years of accounting experience.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the accuracy of benefits enrollments in the HRIS and provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  • Manage day-to-day benefits administration, including billing, enrollment, and changes.
  • Lead the annual open enrollment process.
  • Oversee benefit inquiries regarding plan provisions, benefit enrollments, status changes, and other general inquiries.
  • Maintain the leave-of-absence process through the selected vendor, including medical, personal, disability, and FMLA leave.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and providers, ensure procedures are followed to minimize costs, and serve as the primary benefits contact for employees, Business Managers, Priests, and vendors.
  • Conduct audits and ensure payment of invoices for benefit providers.
  • Manage the 403(b) plan and respond to inquiries about enrollments, plan changes, and contribution amounts.
  • Conduct the annual benefit renewal process by evaluating and analyzing data presented by the benefits broker.
  • Prepare reports and presentations requested by senior management.
  • Act as an expert consultant to management in support of benefits plan designs.
  • Complete benefits reporting requirements and ensure compliance with applicable government legislation.
  • Ensure Catholic protocols are met for benefits, prescriptions, and leave of absence.
  • Monitor trends, best practices, and market competitiveness to recommend enhancements to benefit programs.
  • Evaluate benefit plans to ensure they provide meaningful support while reflecting prudent stewardship of financial resources.
Desired Qualifications
  • Accounting background.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification or equivalent.
  • CEBS certification or CPA.
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing.
  • Proficiency in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
