He has been a Latin America primary bond market reporter at Debtwire. Previously, he was an intern reporter at Bloomberg News. He has also worked as an economics and finance analyst, senior economics and finance analyst, subeditor, and then as editor-at-large at Semana Económica, a business and economics magazine in Peru. He also won the Philip Greer award for best financial writing 2021. Ledgard has a M.A. from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
PitchBook has partnered with Perplexity to integrate its private market intelligence into the AI answer engine's conversational interface through a new Essential MCP server. The integration allows Perplexity users to access PitchBook's firmographic data, receive company and deal information, and explore private market trends with cited, verifiable answers. Users can ask questions about firms, transactions, investors and market themes, receiving summaries with links to original PitchBook sources. The partnership combines PitchBook's comprehensive private capital dataset with Perplexity's real-time information synthesis capabilities. This collaboration marks PitchBook's latest AI partnership, joining existing integrations with Anthropic, OpenAI, Hebbia and others. PitchBook has launched Late-Stage Company Research, a new coverage area providing in-depth analysis of major private companies.
