Requirements
  • Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse program.
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse in this state.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to read technical procedures and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
  • Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.

  • Must meet the facility’s general health requirements, including a medical and physical examination.
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday and push, pull, move, and/or lift at least 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and carry it at least 50 feet.
  • Must be able to assist in evacuating residents during emergency situations when necessary.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.
  • Direct the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants and ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, regulations, and job descriptions.
  • Plan shift services, programs, activities, staffing, and work assignments with nursing and support personnel.
  • Review and recommend revisions to department policies, procedure manuals, and job descriptions.
  • Prepare written and oral reports and recommendations concerning shift activities.
  • Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to maintain each resident’s total care regimen.
  • Participate in the nursing service quality assurance program and facility inspections conducted by authorized government agencies.
  • Review and update resident discharge plans and assist with discharge planning.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents and complete related forms, reports, census records, and medical documentation.
  • Maintain resident records, charts, nurses’ notes, accident and incident reports, transfer forms, diet orders, and other required documentation.
  • Receive telephone orders from physicians and transcribe orders to resident charts, medication cards, treatment plans, and care plans.
  • Prepare and administer physician-ordered medications and treatments, verify resident identity, maintain medication supplies, and reconcile narcotic records.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations, determine shift staffing needs, and make recommendations regarding personnel dismissals and transfers.
  • Provide leadership to assigned nursing personnel, conduct rounds, identify problem areas, and report them to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Orient, train, and provide in-service education to nursing personnel and assist with clinical supervision of nurse aide trainees.
  • Provide nursing care, review charts and treatment orders, make rounds with physicians, coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic services, and monitor residents’ physical and emotional status.
  • Administer catheterization, tube feedings, suction, dressings, colostomy and drainage bag care, specimen collection, vital-sign measurements, and range-of-motion exercises as required.
  • Notify physicians and next of kin of accidents, incidents, or changes in residents’ conditions.
  • Implement resident care plans, review care plans and goals, and coordinate the Minimum Data Set assessment process with the Resident Assessment/Care Plan Coordinator.
  • Maintain safe and sanitary nursing areas, enforce infection-control and hand-hygiene procedures, and ensure appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain adequate supplies, medications, equipment, and Material Safety Data Sheets; monitor safe equipment operation and efficient supply use.
  • Report suspected fraud, unauthorized information-system access, privacy violations, hazardous conditions, and occupational exposures according to facility procedures.
  • Attend continuing education, facility in-service, safety, infection-control, and other required training programs.

PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. Most recently, Hendrickson served as CFO of U.S. Physical Therapy, overseeing 779 outpatient clinics across 44 states. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion.
