Requirements
  • Completion of high school or equivalent; courses in machine shop, mechanical drafting, or engineering vocational training are a plus.
  • Experience working with complex part balancing systems is required.
  • Experience with vision systems such as Cognex and Keyence, Fanuc robotics, and mechatronic systems is required.
  • Working knowledge of friction welding, CNC turning, CNC milling, finish grinding, stress relieving, annealing, roll threading, and component balancing is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, electrical schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in automation and controls.
  • Ability to perform required physical activities, including standing, walking, talking, hearing, using hands and fingers, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to comply with required hearing protection and environmental health and safety policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a liaison between engineering and production while assisting with safety, quality, and process improvements.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing managers, engineers, vendors, and customers to ensure satisfaction and effective communication.
  • Support complex department projects, including planning, training, implementation, and documentation of solutions.
  • Create and update work instructions, first-piece sheets, and other production-support documentation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, machine-vision, and controls issues on automated lines and complex part-balancing equipment.
  • Support the development of automated and manual systems for machining lines.
  • Support the development of CNC machining operations, including milling, turning, grinding, and in-process and post-process gauging systems.
  • Support the development of friction welding, laser marking, stress relieving, annealing, roll threading, and component-balancing operations.
  • Perform tests and analyze data to improve department functions and provide daily manufacturing support.
  • Assist the maintenance team with preventive maintenance and machine repairs on departmental equipment.
  • Assist the Department Manager, Production Facilitator, and Engineering with implementing new or modified production lines and providing technical support for complex production processes and machinery.
  • Assist with installing and upgrading production equipment in collaboration with equipment suppliers and contractors.
  • Work with Manufacturing Tool Design to develop concepts for fixtures, cutting tools, and new products.
  • Recommend design, tooling, and manufacturing-process changes to improve machining-operation cost efficiency.
  • Inspect machined parts using indicators, micrometers, calipers, and related devices.
  • Assist with procuring new tooling and fixtures.
  • Test and evaluate new programs and perform necessary edits.
  • Work with minimal supervision and manage processes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
  • Document system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and training materials.
  • Participate in continuous-improvement initiatives and learn new automation technologies.
  • Support pre-production and PPAP assembly builds, procurement, and installation of assembly lines and equipment.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to manufacturing processes and tooling.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate engineering degree from an accredited technical program is preferred.
  • Courses or vocational training in electronics, controls, or engineering are a plus.
  • Three or more years of experience on a manufacturing floor working with technical issues and material flow is preferred.
  • Experience with basic statistics is preferred.
  • Mastercam and CNC programming experience is preferred.
  • Experience with friction welding, CNC turning, CNC milling, finish grinding, stress relieving, annealing, roll threading, and component balancing is required in the qualifications and treated as a required technical capability.

BorgWarner beats Q2 estimates with $1.42 EPS and $3.65B revenue

BorgWarner reported second-quarter earnings of $1.42 per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.26 per share and marking a 12.70% earnings surprise. This represents an increase from $1.21 per share in the same period last year. The auto parts supplier posted revenues of $3.65 billion for the quarter ended June 2026, surpassing estimates by 1.77%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $3.64 billion. The company has exceeded consensus revenue estimates three times over the last four quarters. BorgWarner shares have gained approximately 39.9% since the beginning of the year, outperforming the S&P 500's 13% gain. Despite the strong performance, the company currently holds a Zacks Rank of #4 (Sell), suggesting potential near-term underperformance.

BorgWarner boosts 2026 adjusted EPS guidance, adds $1B share buyback amid 100bps operating margin gain

BorgWarner reported second quarter 2026 results with US GAAP net sales increasing 0.3% year-over-year to $3,648 million, whilst organic net sales declined 1.2%. Excluding a $60 million drop in Battery Energy Systems sales, organic revenue grew modestly. The company achieved a GAAP operating margin of 10.1%, up 220 basis points, and an adjusted operating margin of 11.3%, up 100 basis points. Net earnings per diluted share rose 30.1% to $1.34, with adjusted earnings per share climbing 17.4% to $1.42. BorgWarner repurchased approximately $100 million in shares during the quarter and paid a $34 million dividend. The board authorised a $1 billion increase to its share buyback programme, bringing total authorisation to approximately $1.35 billion through 2029. The company raised its full-year 2026 adjusted earnings per share guidance to $5.05-$5.30, up from $5.00-$5.20 previously, whilst maintaining sales expectations of $14.0-$14.3 billion.

BorgWarner appoints Rajesh Kalathur, former Deere & Company CFO and CIO, to board of directors

BorgWarner has appointed Rajesh Kalathur to its board of directors. Kalathur recently retired from Deere & Company, where he served as president of John Deere Financial and chief information officer. During his tenure at Deere, which began in 1996, Kalathur led the company's financial services business segment with more than $70 billion in assets and oversaw global IT and cybersecurity functions. He previously served as Deere's CFO for over six years. BorgWarner's non-executive chairman Alexis P. Michas said Kalathur's global leadership experience across finance, IT, operations, and sales will be valuable to the board.

Production is scheduled to begin in 2029.
