Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline is required.
  • 1-10+ years’ experience.
  • 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • Must have an Active TOP SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a TOP SECRET Clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Researches, develops, plans, and designs products which focus on ergonomics and human factor principles.
  • Oversees study and development of human factor processes to ensure adherence to design standards.
  • Work with multiple departments to design, create, test, and deploy products and services.
  • Meets with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand the needs and requirements for a new product or system.
  • Makes detailed models, searches out materials, components, and systems of the products.
  • Presents preliminary models, finalizes designs, and sends prints to the production department.
  • Oversees production lifecycle and testing of conditions such as materials, extended use, temperature, and humidity.
  • Develops technical documentation that is beneficial to the organization.
  • Has an understanding of industry trends and findings and apply this state-of-the-art knowledge in devising strategies, evaluations, and redesigns to avoid or modify products that have negative impacts.
  • Has experience in minimizing impacts where products are essential.
  • Able to visualize how design changes made to products will affect the user.
  • Has problem-solving skills in order to devise ways to redesign products so that they won't harm or frustrate the user.
  • Has communication skills so that they can communicate human factor issues to the engineering team and to end users.
  • Has a thorough understanding of all applicable standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
