About the Role
The Business Development Internship at Platform Science gives students the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the technology and transportation sector. Interns will shadow business development and partner management managers in their day-to-day business and operational duties and will be assigned projects to support department projects that impact the BD/Partner Team’s goals to sign-up relevant developers to our Marketplace and to successfully manage the on-going relationship with Solution Partners to grow the number of solutions in our Marketplace.
Essential Responsibilities (working with the following)
- Learn sales and negotiating skills by working directly with business development managers.
- Learn the operational aspects of managing Solution Partners from our Partner Management team.
- Shadow various team members to include attendance in discovery calls, technical scoping calls, platform demos, contract negotiations with developers, and Solution Partner onboarding, enablement and management.
- Learn several different technologies and market dynamics in the transportation industry as you do research to determine which companies, categories, subcategories, and other factors for future inclusion in the PS Marketplace.
Experience
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
- Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer (June through Mid-August), with mandatory in-office days.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize based on opportunities and effectively multitask.
- Experience using MACs and Google Apps is desired.
- Desire to work in business development and/or partnerships within the software sector and transportation market with a growing company
Our job titles for each posting may span across more than one job level. The estimated hourly rate for this position is between $20 and $25 per hour. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire hourly rates across all US locations. Compensation packages are based on many factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, work experience, relevant training and certifications, business needs, market demands and specific geographical location. The hourly pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
