Requirements
  • The candidate must be a Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, or another licensed, certified, or registered health professional with experience in diabetes education.
  • A Master's degree is required.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • Fluency in English and the ability to communicate orally and read and write in English are required.
  • Experience managing projects independently and the ability to work in a team setting are required.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, including public speaking and writing skills for creating correspondence and newsletters, are required.
  • Demonstrated supervision, leadership, and financial oversight, including a minimum of two years of supervisory experience, are required.
  • Experience with curriculum, course, and/or program development is required.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, are required.
  • The ability to maintain a positive, warm, friendly, and healing attitude toward patients and the community is required.
  • Excellent customer service, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to rapid changes in job requirements are required.
  • A current, valid California driver's license, automobile insurance required by California law, and an automobile available for daily work are required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the Medical Nutrition Therapy Program, including nutrition assessment, nutrition support, patient intervention, and education.
  • Manage the outpatient Diabetes Program located at Ryan Ranch and other designated outpatient programs.
  • Supervise at least a small group of dietitians as part of outpatient Diabetes Program management.
Desired Qualifications
  • Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) certification is preferred.
  • Experience managing an outpatient diabetes program and/or nutrition program is strongly preferred.
