Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience with cruise operations and/or tourism, hospitality or event planning
  • 3+ years managing the development of full product lifecycles, from design to execution
  • 2+ years working with contract negotiations and budgeting
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, and the ability to communicate with clarity during complex situations

Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Ensure deadlines are met as determined by the Operations Calendar, including product launches and training
  • Develop accurate and timely pre-voyage information and other necessary elements to prepare and fulfill the land and air components of a Lindblad expedition
  • Itinerary Coordination: Create and distribute working itineraries with operational elements, contact information, and other essential documents required by guests, ships, and vendors
  • Manage inventory allotments for hotels, extensions, flights, and other pre- and post-voyage services
  • Communication and Training: Maintain and communicate accurate information about land services, leading training sessions, and briefing field staff
  • Respond to questions in a timely manner and effectively communicate program needs and changes
  • Lead internal communication on timely and accurate information on land programs, including responsibility for solving and communicating program and schedule changes
  • Financial Oversight: Review, approve, and reconcile invoices for services, ensuring accurate costs are current (budgeted and actual)
  • Staffing and Scheduling: Coordinate Land Leader staffing and scheduling needs with the Field Staff Department
  • Emergency Response: Participate in weekend and off-hours duty, covering emergency duty several times per month, including managing and coordinating with guests, ship personnel, insurance companies, and local agents during medical emergencies
  • Program Enhancement and Development: Propose enhancements, changes, and development opportunities based on deep knowledge of geography and thoughtful assessment of feedback from guests, vendors, ships, and colleagues
  • Knowledge Management: Create and maintain all internal informational assets that assist the reservations, sales, and guest communications teams; Seek continual improvement of geographical knowledge, representing assigned regions and programs as a subject matter expert
  • Supplier Management: Coordinate with the Manager of Contracts to research suppliers, acquire bids, and negotiate contracts, ensuring accurate and updated costs for land services within budgeting cycles; Seek approval on pricing for land, air, and other expedition components as designated, while articulating Lindblad Expeditions' Guiding Principles and differentiators to vendors; Visit local vendors for contract finalizations, site inspections, quality control, and training as directed; Establish land arrangements, including tours, guides, transportation, and meals; Ensure existing programs and vendor services meet or exceed guest satisfaction levels, providing feedback to partners; Ensure all brand standards are met and consistent during land operations, including management of signs, luggage tags, shirts, and other branded gear

National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions just rolled out a couple of limited-time deals designed to make its bucket-list vacations a little more doable. Celebrate 60 years of Exploration offer. The first offer includes a $1,000 air credit on select 2026 sailings, as long as travelers book by April 15, 2026, and arrange flights through the company. The eligible itineraries span a pretty wide range, taking passengers to places like Alaska, Japan, Europe, Greece, Greenland, Norway and the Arctic. Itineraries that are eligible for the Air Credit offer include: A Celebration of Family Exploration offer. The second deal is all about families. Called "A Celebration of Family Exploration," it offers up to 50 percent off fares for kids 18 and under on select summer 2026 departures, with a booking deadline of April 30, 2026. Onboard, younger travelers can take part in the National Geographic Explorers-in-Training program, which includes hands-on activities like looking at plankton under a microscope, building ice cream sundae "glaciers" or doing other fun, themed projects tied to their destination.
