Requirements
  • A doctorate degree, or a master's degree with three years of Medical Affairs experience, or a bachelor's degree with five years of Medical Affairs experience.
  • Two years of proven experience in scientific or medical affairs at a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company.
  • Three or more years of clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research, including medically related post-doctoral training, residencies, or fellowships.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a scientific liaison to the medical and scientific community and establish, develop, and maintain relationships with prominent experts and clinicians throughout the United States.
  • Engage with healthcare partners to educate and communicate clinical and scientific data in alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Educate and communicate clinical value, outcomes, and economic data to payers, providers, key partners, advocacy organizations, and access enablers.
  • Respond to unsolicited inquiries consistent with Medical Science Liaison compliance standards.
  • Provide and present field observations and insights to internal collaborators.
  • Implement a scientific engagement plan according to annual Medical Science Liaison goals and metrics.
  • Develop and implement local opinion-leader plans in line with the scientific engagement plan.
  • Support speaker training and ensure speakers are updated on new data.
  • Support company-sponsored research and potentially serve as a study lead.
  • Liaise with potential investigators in non-sponsored clinical research.
  • Lead or participate on project teams that support Medical Science Liaison strategies and tactics as delegated by Medical Science Liaison leadership.
  • Lead and support congress activities in alignment with strategy.
  • Collaborate compliantly with cross-functional colleagues and potentially serve as the main point of contact.
  • Maintain clinical acuity and expertise and complete assigned training on time.
  • Potentially serve as a training lead, new-hire mentor, and/or international Medical Science Liaison mentor or trainer.
Desired Qualifications
  • Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O.; other doctoral degrees are considered.
  • Rare Disease therapeutic-area expertise.

Amgen to open new science and innovation centre in Hyderabad's Genome Valley

Amgen announced plans to open a new Science and Innovation Center in Genome Valley, Hyderabad, expected to be operational in 2027. The facility will join Amgen's global Research and Development network of seven research laboratories, expanding the company's scientific capabilities. The center will bring together scientists and technologists across discovery chemistry, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, and precision medicine. It will integrate experimental science with data and digital innovation to accelerate the discovery and development of medicines. "The new center in Genome Valley expands the way we integrate experimental science with data and technology across our global research capabilities," said Jay Bradner, executive vice president of Research and Development, Artificial Intelligence and Data at Amgen. The facility will complement Amgen's existing technology and innovation site in Hyderabad.
