Job Description
• The client is seeking a temporary scientist to support the genetic characterization of cell lines expressing therapeutic proteins.
• The scientist will be primarily responsible for molecular biology activities that demonstrate genetic and epigenetic foundations of cellular phenotypes, such as ddPCR, RT-PCR, Northern blotting, Southern blotting, Next-Generation Sequencing, and molecular cloning.
• Additional responsibilities include mammalian cell culture, experimental design, data analysis, troubleshooting, participation in project teams and maintaining detailed records.
• The work is highly collaborative; requiring excellent communication skills and a desire to be part of a team.
• This temporary position is located at our Springhouse, PA facility and is expected to be needed until the end of 2016.
• Qualifications The qualified candidate will have a BA/BS/MS in biological sciences, biochemistry, chemical engineering or related scientific discipline. A minimum of 3 year of experience in a laboratory setting is required.
• Experience in mammalian cell culture, PCR, DNA/RNA isolation, and common molecular biology techniques is required.
• Familiarity with quantitative PCR and Next Generation Sequencing data analysis is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• The incumbent candidate must be comfortable working in a matrix environment and have the ability to connect with different functional groups and people in multiple levels while embracing and driving change.
